Questions

What attracted/motivated you to start working in the healthcare industry?

I had two big drivers on my entry into healthcare.  The first was when I ran my digital agency, our healthcare costs were rising 3x the rate of any other business costs, and so when I sold the agency, I jumped into healthcare to see if there were ways to reduce some of those costs.  The 2nd driver was after my brother had a terrible accident, falling 20ft onto his head in a hotel lobby.  He had emergency brain surgery, is lucky to be alive.  After 20 years of hard work, he is still in recovery but trying to live his best life.  I hope that I can use my skills and experiences to help others live their healthiest, and fullest lives.

What are your key skills, experience or relationships that you are going to be able to bring to Lumati to help achieve its ambitious growth goals of reaching 1BN lives by 2035?

I have spent 20+ years working as a founder, or with founders to help take an idea and scale it into a real business.  I like working with hyper growth companies that need to build technology and operations to support their goals.

Why do you think Lumati has an opportunity to be a leader in the next evolution of our Well Care system?

I think humanity is always searching for the next frontier, and health is no different.  We have 1.8 billion people over 50 on the planet and many of them are expecting to live a healthier and longer life than their parents.  However our life expectancy has stopped increasing, and in fact started to decrease.  So people are looking for new ways to extend their health span, and Lumati is well positioned to be a leader in this space.

Who are a few of your favorite influencers/leaders in the medical/wellness industry?

We have some wonderful medical leaders in our company, and I learn from them almost every day.  I do listen to podcasts including Huberman Labs, The Ultimate Human (Gary Brecka), Ben Greenfield Life and Dr Mark Hyman.

What Lumati modality are you most excited about that will affect humanity’s health the most?

I think our HemoDetox platform that is just about to be rolled our has a tremendous opportunity to become a standard of wellcare for anyone looking to extend their healthspan.  The data we are seeing from early clients is showing its efficacy across the board from late stage cancer improvement to reversal of various chronic conditions.  We are also working on stacking additional tools into the platform that will help with microplastics and forever chemicals.

What kind of health improvements have you seen personally from using the Lumati stack yourself?

I enjoy using the PBM light beds which always help to increase my energy levels.  I have also seen improvements in my heart rate rhythm directly from my usage of these technologies.  I am excited to start doing the BioRegeneration treatments to focus on some areas of higher risk for me.

What are your own biohacking, health or nutrition tips you employ for staying healthy while managing a busy work schedule?

I stick to a pretty healthy diet, based on the whole30 approach.  So minimizing processed foods, sugar and dairy.  Its amazing that you can still eat deliciously and healthily at the same time.  It just needs a little preparation and practice.  I also enjoy cold showers, cold plunging, meditation and regular physical activity.

Based on our cultures and values, which one resonates with you most and why?

I am generally a results oriented person, so definitely seeing the results we are having with clients is critical.  I also believe we need to be saving our clients time and so being able to see results quickly is a great value add of the Lumati stack.

What is your projection on how long it will take us to get to our goal of reaching 1BN lives?

I think stretch goals are important to have.  The key is if you make them ambitious enough, it does not matter how long it takes you to get there, the progress you make along the way is always remarkable.  Having said that, I hope we can impact millions of people in the next 5 years.

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that your Lumati team might not know?

Although I live in the US now, and I am British, I actually spent the first 3 years of my life in Versailles, France (not in the royal palace), and spoke French before English!
